Mar Vista Baptist Church of Imperial Beach, California is seeking a Senior Pastor who resides in the local area. Our church is an established traditional neighborhood Southern Baptist Church in a small beach community. We currently have an average of 22 attendees at Sunday Worship Service with huge potential for growth. The Church family participates in Sunday School, Bible studies, and supports various SBC missions. We are seeking a local Pastor with a vision for community outreach and willing to expand the children's and youth department to help facilitate church growth.
The Senior Pastor will lead Mar Vista Baptist Church (MVBC) in proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ, he will be a Servant Leader. He will plan and conduct worship services and sermons. He will teach God’s Word, engage in pastoral care ministries, and shepherd the congregation in its relationship with Jesus Christ. Pastoral care will include Biblical preaching, the ordinances of Baptism and Lord’s Supper, performing Christian weddings ceremonies and officiating at funerals/memorial services. He will be expected to visit church members, prospects, and the sick and homebound. The Senior Pastor will lead MVBC in telling Imperial Beach the good news of salvation to the lost, through Jesus Christ.
The successful candidate will be a Southern Baptist ordained minister with five years of pastor experience and have a university degree in Divinity from a Southern Baptist Convention affiliated college or seminary. He will be in concert with the Baptist Faith & Message 2000. He must meet the Biblical qualifications in 1st Timothy, Titus, and 1st Peter. He must be able to work in coordination with an entire volunteer staff and a congregation led church.
Initially MVBC is able to support the Pastor for a part-time ministerial effort compensated at $2,000 a month with two weeks paid vacation per year. MVBC desires a minimum of 10 contact hours during the week, Sunday Worship Service is at 10:00am, remaining schedule is negotiable.
