Mesa Church in San Diego had a mission team fly in to serve at their church. They wanted to host a parents' night out on a Saturday evening, March 8, 2025, to allow parents of the church and community to have a break and date night.
Twenty kids attended, with three new families dropping their kids off.
The pastor of Mesa Church, Charlie Houck, was very encouraged by the fact that many families took advantage of dropping their kids off. The mission was to be present and volunteer to allow church members to take the night off.
Using the party trailer from the San Diego Southern Baptist Association definitely benefited us by allowing us to provide fun and snacks to kids and meet new families from around our neighborhood who do not normally attend Sunday services.
It was appreciated that we offered free child care on a Saturday night, allowing parents to take a break, and have a date night or just free time.
